This year, Sydney is set to host an impressive concert lineup, featuring established artists and emerging talents. With a range of confirmed tours and potential performances on the horizon, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s a look at what’s confirmed and what’s on our radar for 2025.

Confirmed Concerts:

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism Tour

The Radical Optimism Tour is the ongoing third concert tour by English and Albanian singer Dua Lipa, supporting her 2024 album Radical Optimism. The tour began in Asia in November last year and is set to conclude in Seattle this coming October. She is set to perform in Sydney late March following shows in Melbourne. The tour has included over 40 dates across North America, Europe, New Zealand and the UK which have included performances at venues such as: London’s Wembley Stadium and New York’s Madison Square Garden. The setlist includes hits from her latest album such as “Training Season”, “Illusion” as well as fan favorites like “Levitating”, “New Rules” and “Don’t Start Now” with an encore including “Dance the Night”, “Houdini” and “Don’t Start Now”.

Cyndi Lauper - Girls just wanna have Fun Farewell Tour

Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” Farewell Tour marks her final goodbye to live arena tours, marked as a bittersweet moment for fans. However, to clarify, she has stated she is not retiring and will be open to occasional performances. Being set to perform in Sydney in early April, Cyndi has already visited Canada, Europe and North America, and is set to conclude in Tokyo in late April. For the Australian leg of the tour, Cyndi Lauper will be joined by special guests The Veronicas, a pop duo of identical sisters from Brisbane. The set list includes a mix of her greatest hits such as “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, “Time After Time”, “True Colors” and “She’s So Unusual”.

Gracie Abrams - Secret of Us Tour

The Secret of Us Tour is supporting Gracie Abram’s sophomore album, The Secret of Us, which was released in June 2024. The album debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart and features hits like “Close to You” and a collaboration with Taylor Swift titled “Us”. The tour marks Gracie Abrams’ debut headline arena performances in Australia and New Zealand, following her first successful visit to Australia last year in January where her shows sold out quickly. The tour began last year in September in Portland, Oregon, and has famously chosen more intimate venues for this tour, focusing on emotional connection with her audience rather than large-scale productions. However, in Sydney, she is set to perform at the Qudos Bank Arena. The setlist includes songs from her latest album, such as “Felt Good About You”, “Risk” and “Close to You” along with other fan favorites like “I miss you, I’m Sorry”. Each night, Gracie includes a surprise song in her setlist, similar to Taylor Swift’s surprise songs on the Eras Tour which she famously opened for in 2024.

Katy Perry - Lifetimes Tour

The Lifetimes tour supports Katy Perry’s latest album, “143” released in 2024. This album marked a return to her pop roots after a prolonged hiatus and the tour itself is her first in seven years following Witness: The Tour 2017-2018. The tour has not started yet but is scheduled to begin in Mexico City on April 23 and is scheduled to end in Madrid, Spain, in early November. The tour is currently scheduled to include 83 concerts across multiple continents including North America, Europe, and South America. Whilst the setlist has not been released, we can speculate that it will include songs from her latest album, such as “Woman’s World” and “I’m His, He’s Mine”. But I think we can also expect to see some of her older hits such as “Teenage Dream”, “California Girls” and “Part of Me”. The set design has been revealed through her Instagram page and Ticketek sales, the main stage is shaped in an infinity symbol with two seated sections in the two holes created by the loops, which will create an intimate and intriguing experience.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR

Tyler, the Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR supports his eighth studio album Chromakopia released in October of 2024. The tour began recently in early February at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and is set to conclude in mid-September 2025 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. The tour consists of 97 shows across five legs covering North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia. Lil Yachty and Paris Texas are the supporting acts for the tour, with Lil Yachty being a rapper best known for his songs “One Night” and “Broccoli,” and Paris Texas being an alternative hip-hop duo known for their intense energy and their unique sound. The tour features songs from Chromakopica including “St. Chroma” and “Sticky” but also past hits like “See You Again”  and “Earfquake”.

Speculative Acts:

Sabrina Carpenter - Short and Sweet

Sabrina Carpenter is currently touring on the Short n’ Sweet Tour, which is her fifth concert tour and first arena tour launched in support of her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, released last year. Currently, the tour has included shows in North America and Europe with additional dates announced for both regions, however,no Australia dates have been mentioned. However, in an interview with The Today Show Sabrina Carpenter confirmed that future Australian concerts are “very much happening”. Given her rising popularity after her Grammy and BRIT award, and the release of the Short n’ Sweet Deluxe album, it is now more likely than ever that she will add extra dates. Furthermore, Sabrina Carpenter is no stranger to Australian crowds, visiting last year in February as an opener for the Eras Tour in Sydney and Melbourne. Touring news service Whatslively has also recently predicted with 90% confidence that a 2025 tour is imminent. Given all these factors, it seems highly likely that Sabrina Carpenter will announce Australian tour dates shortly, fans should stay alert for any official announcements as with her growing popularity venues are likely to sell out quickly once dates are confirmed.

Chappell Roan - Announced Tour

Chappell Roan has been teasing fans with the possibility of an Australian tour in 2025 since an interview last year at the MTV VMAs in September. Roan told Aussie radio host Smallzy, “Oh, yes, darling. I’m gonna come! I’m coming. We’re planning." Her last trip to Australia was in November of 2023, where she performed in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to promote her album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”, however, the tour supporting the album has unfortunately finished in October last year, meaning it is very unlikely she will continue. However, with the release of her newest single titled “The Giver” there have been rumors of a brand new album in the works for 2025, following her Grammy-winning success in 2024. In her newest music video for “The Giver”, at the start, she teased what fans theorize are new song titles, which include “The Subway”, an unreleased song that she has performed at concerts and festivals. However, her last album took 5 years to record and release, with Roan releasing each song as a single, which we can observe currently with her last two releases being stand-alone singles, “The Giver” and “Good Luck, Babe” which suggests she is releasing music incrementally. With her growing fame and the growing anticipation of new music, fans are hopeful that Chappell Roan will return to Australia soon, possibly as part of a tour supporting her hopefully upcoming album.

Who are you most excited to see in Sydney this year?
